THE MAKE-UP ESSENTIALS IN 20 TIPS

The Make-Up Essentials in 20 Tips 1. Always start by cleansing your face. Put on an SPF moisturizer after that covering the under-eye area with great care.

2. Don’t skip the primer. The overall look of your makeup and its durability are strongly dependent on the primer. It gives a pleasant touch to the skin, too.

3. Now is the time to apply concealer. One of the golden rules of makeup says that you should not put a concealer unless you really need it.

4. One of the makeup basics is foundation. Opt for a liquid one. When choosing foundation, be careful to pick up your colour. Some women find it easier to use a brush or a sponge, while others spread it with their fingers. This is not important as long as you pad and dab it rather than soak or rub in energetically.

5. Foundation should cover the whole face including eyelids, down to the lash line, the lip line and the skin over the brow. This evens the tan of the face and conceals redness or darker spots. Most modern liquid foundations provide a yellow base that adds up to a more harmonious colour of the face (Kashuk).

6. Your foundation should ideally be slightly darker than the concealer (if you choose to put both). Their shades should not differ too much, though, or you’ll get what is known in cosmetics as raccoon eyes.

7. Use your ring finger to spread concealer around the eyes. Always tap. Rubbing in won’t produce the same effects of covering.

8. Base products in the form of creams are most successfully and evenly applied with the help of synthetic brushes.

9. You can put on a little bit of brightening powder over concealer. This holds particularly for the inner part of the eye.

10. Once you finish with the foundation, you’re ready for blush. You need a clean brush to make everything on your face merge. Some women like to apply more than one blush shade. It’s OK but you need to make sure shades pass into each other gradually. You can solve your problem by using Sensai blushes that have all the differing shades in one compact.

11. The double fiber brushes are perfect for lighter blush application.

12. The appearance of your upper lashes will improve with dot liner.

13. Powder precedes eyeshadow. Always stick to this rule to avoid creasing.

14. Cream products for your eyes should be combined with powder.

15. You are ready now for eyeshadow. Applying colour to your crease will give your eyes and face a hint of depth. Dark-eyed women, however, should highlight their lash line instead of the crease. Put on shade gradually starting with very little texture on the brush to be able to apply evenly.

16. Some eyes do have a slightly drooping look that could be neutralized by winging out the eye liner (only a little, though).

17. Once you finish beautifying your eyes, take a clean brush and pass it delicately over to allow colours to blend.

18. Avoid back and forth motions with the eye pencil. Use the brow pencil along the hair growth.

19. The drooping look of the eyes can be bettered with mascara on the upper lashes only.

20. To extend the durability of your lipstick or lipgloss, start by putting some lip pencil. You may as well cover your entire lip with liner first.
