LET YOUR LASHES ENCHANT OTHERS
Make-up has now more than ever turned into something women all over the world just can’t go without. Nowadays, it comes in the form of so many different items and products that it is often hard to choose. One of the most popular items that women simply can’t give in is mascara. It is equally suitable for day and night alike. Lots of women put on nothing but mascara and a little lip-gloss to better appearance during the day. It also offers the ideal transformation for a special night occasion: a deeper and stunning look. Fervent mascara fans often wonder which texture, shade or brush will suit them best. Here’s a little something on that topic:
Length or volume? That is the question. Sure we’ve all seen those ads of mascaras giving daring lengths to our lashes. The key is in the texture that highlights each lash and makes it look more defined. While lengthening mascaras help lashes extend outwards, volumizing ones add some extra coat on, making them thicker and more discernible. Who says that you can’t have them both? To achieve additional length plus fullness, always start with the lengthening mascara and then apply the one for volume. Finish the new look by carefully coating the lashes at the edge of your eyes.
Which is the right occasion for a waterproof mascara? Few women know it but waterproof mascara is not just another variation on the market. It’s markedly different in texture, which is why it requires a special application. Rule number one here is to use it in moderation; lashes should have just a slight touch of it. Rule number two is to put it on when it’s really necessary and no other type of mascara will work. For instance, it is preferred by dancers or stage performers where mascara, as part of the overall make-up, has to last for hours on end. Here’s a trick for a more durable look: curl your lashes with an eyelash curler first, then put on some waterproof mascara as a base followed by a volumizing one. You’ll see that it’s much easier to take off at the end of the day.
How to pick up the brush? Modern mascaras come in a variety of brushes. There is no such thing as the best one. It’s purely a matter of personal choice and convenience. Some women find curved brushes more comfortable because they match the curves of the lashes themselves. For others, however, straight ones are better as they can magnify the look of every single lash. One of the latest fads is the swinging brush. It’s worth the try though you may not be able to control your movements precisely when putting it on.
Should we experiment with colour? Definitely! Black is of course classic and classy but there are some absolute hits in blue, wine and purple shades that can freshen your daytime appearance. Burgundy, khaki green and turquoise are becoming ever more popular. On the search for a new look for your night out with the girls? Try anything in blue!
Going pro with application. While it’s a big thing to choose the mascara that highlights your eyes, the final effect depends pretty much on how you put it on. A single coat may be good but we’re looking for the best result here, so opt for two. If your lashes are a little bit skimpy, don’t be afraid to put on some more mascara, it won’t be too much. Professional make-up artists apply as many as five coats. Each coat contributes to the final appearance only when it has fully dried on the lashes. Mascara creates a darker and more tantalizing look of the eyes which should be contrasted with lighter lips. Put on more texture at the base of the lashes to volumize them and more at the tips to lengthen them.
